B. Matthew’s Eatery in Savannah, Georgia
Savannah has a plethora of restaurants with some great food. After checking into my hotel at The Brice I inquired with the front desk staff where we could get some great food. One of the places that was suggested was B. Matthew’s Eatery. It was a couple of blocks away and we happily headed over.
What began as a bakery and deli, B. Matthew’s turned into an eatery that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. We arrived in time for lunch which takes place between 11am – 3pm Monday – Friday. There was plenty to choose from on the one paged menu. Two of us opted for the Shrimp and Grits. The other a Reuben sandwich with soup of the day.
While waiting for our food, I noticed how quaint the eatery was. It was a nice place. The side of the table I sat on had a booth with tuft pillows. I really liked this because typically booths make me feel far from the table causing me to sit forward. I was able to relax and be comfortable with the pillow.
The other thing that I had to order was sweet tea. You can’t go to the south and not get some sweet tea! It was really good and my glass was empty very quickly. It took a couple of refills at the table before the waiter realized he should just leave some at the table so we could refill our own glasses.
Before we knew it the food came out. I had never had Shrimp and Grits and I wasn’t dissapointed. It was so delicious. I was told the Rueben was very good as well. Finishing up the Shrimp and Grits I wasn’t full, but I was comfortable. I could have eaten a bit more, but I was still fulfilled.
We enjoyed the food at B. Matthew’s Eatery and would certainly return on our next visit. I would love to try some other items they have on their menu. Their meals can be enjoyed inside or outside on a beautiful day! The prices are also extremely affordable! I will be back!

The food looks great, especially the soup. Not sure what grits taste like, but l would definitely love the shrimp 🙂 . I have yet to visit Georgia, but l am sure l would love it. Thanks for sharing.

I haven’t been here, actually haven’t been to Savannah, Georgia before. But it is a destination on my list. 🙂 Looks like a tasty and comfy place to stop and enjoy with friends. The scrimp looks delicious.

I love sweet tea too! Once in a while I will drink some Arizona sweet tea, but nothing compares to the sweet tea in the south. I have not been to Savannah in ages, but I hope to get back soon! It is such a quaint little city 😀

I love a Reuben sandwich they are amazing when you get a good one. They are not widely known or popular here in Australia. McDonalds have just finished running one here as a cafe special. It was not the best Reuben i have had thats for sure. Anyway the food looks amazing

I’ve been to Savannah but I didnt get to try any good places to eat there. The shrimp and grits looks so yummy! I was lucky enough to try that in New Orleans. Southern food is so flavorful!
