Savannah is a city I have been wanting to visit for quite sometime. I love history, a good time, great food, and more. Savannah doesn’t fall short of these things. There are so many hotels to choose from it can be a bit much when trying to decide where to stay to take all these things in. Having a quick girls getaway I decided on The Brice, a Kimpton Hotel. This hotel stood out in so many amazing ways.
The Brice is located in the Historic District of Savannah, right in the heart of everything. So many things are in walking distance from the hotel. River Street is= just across the street. Riverboat cruises, museums, parks, and more are all around. If walking isn’t your thing there are tons of trolley tours. I saw many passing the hotel and one even stopped down the block from it.
If walking isn’t your thing, Uber arrives very quickly and they are extremely affordable. It is a really peaceful and beautiful area. All you have to do is walk a block in your in the heart of the action. I found that to be a great combination.
The Brice- A Kimpton Hotel
Arriving to The Brice, we were immediately greeted. A gentleman took my bag inside to the front desk. The infamous Southern Hospitality was in full swing! I had also noticed a group show up. Another gentleman took all of their bags for them and they set off on their own adventure never stepping foot inside the hotel. They really take care of you!
Walking into the hotel the first thing I noticed was a photo op area. There was a swing with a couple of hats sitting on them. There was a sign that sat next to it informing what to hashtag on social media. There was also a dog bowl filled with water underneath because The Brice is pet friendly! I also noticed some very nice red bikes. I wish I had the time to ride one around. That would have been fun.
The lobby of The Brice was beautiful. There were plenty of places to sit and lounge. There was water avaliable and a view out into their courtyard. I really enjoyed all of the decor they had. Every time I looked I found something else I loved such as the art work, the couches, the old typewriter and so much more. It was antique with some modern mixed in.
The staff was so nice. They have plenty of suggestions and are extremely kind and prompt in answering any questions. Jessica who was working at the front desk was extremely friendly. She was very helpful in suggesting a great place for brunch, getting a tour to pick us up directly from the hotel, and taking out a map and showing us where things where.
For a boutique hotel The Brice has an array of rooms to choose from. When we walked into our room we were in awe. We had received the Queens Queen Suite and it was gorgeous! As soon as we walked in there was a living room area with very cool decor. A television was found on the opposite wall. There were tons of snacks, alcohol, water, chapstick, and more sitting on the television stand. Underneath was a fridge filled with all types of beverages.
They had given us a key to get into the minibar. We were also told we could shift things in the minibar around if we wanted to put something in the fridge. Being a Kimpton Karma Rewards member I was also given a $10 card to get anything I wanted from the minibar or tray. I thought that was an amazing touch. Being a member also allotted for complimentary wifi.
Walking further into the room there was a vanity area with great lighting and an ample amount of counter space. The Brice made sure to leave a card on the counter letting you know anything you may have left at home they have or will get it for you. They really aim to please. Across from the vanity area was a nice sized closet. Inside the closest were extremely soft robes, a big umbrella in case it rained, and a yoga mat! All of these things were something you could keep for reasonable prices.
Walking even further into the room were two queen sized beds. I loved the decor and how spacious it was. There was a table with another television. I loved that the table in between the beds had some special touches to it. One being each side had outlets to charge your electronics with a plug or simply the USB. I opened the drawers which were painted pink on the inside and there were guidebooks and more inside. There was also an iHome.
The room also had a nice view. Next to the bed was the bathroom area. The amazing thing about it was there was a little nook inside the shower that had full sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. That certainly separated The Brice from many other hotels. A great amount of towels were on a shelf in the shower area which I also loved. The room was nice and spacious so no one felt on top of one another. The garbage can under the table also had a recyclable side!
As I stated before The Brice is pet friendly. I saw many pooches walking around, but as fast as they came was as fast as they went. There are also bikes you can take for a ride for free. I didn’t get the chance, but I would have loved to if I had more time. Besides offering complimentary water all day in the lobby, there is also a complimentary wine hour from 5-6pm. There was also some vodka punch which I heard was really good. We got our glasses and sat outside in the beautiful courtyard.
We all loved the courtyard area. It was beautiful with many comfortable places to sit. The Brice also has had weddings take place in the courtyard and I can certainly understand why. There are comfy couches and chairs all over with beautiful lights hanging. You can also order from the restaurant, Pacci, and have some appetizers with your wine as some did. In the morning you can also start your day right with complimentary coffee or tea in the lobby.
The Italian restaurant and bar Pacci is also there for your pleasure. The restaurant was built in the 1860s. It was built as a warehouse and happened to be the first Coca-Cola bottling plant in Georgia outside of Atlanta! So not only do you get food and drinks, but you also get a bit of history!
The hotel also has in room spa services that you can be taken advantage of. A pool and fitness center is also on the property. I loved the pool area! It was beautiful and looked like a mini resort. Many lounge chairs with rolled up towels sat by the pool. There were a ton of places to sit and unwind. I also noticed some rooms had their own patio area that was right by the pool. It looked like a great place to relax and unwind or catch some sun! Just be sure to bring your room key! You need a code to get in and your key to get out!
The Brice also has some amazing things coming up in the Spring and Summer. In the Spring they will have an Acoustic in the Garden series Tuesday evenings from 6-8PM. There will be live music in the Secret Garden with special drinks and food pricing for those who attend and it is open to everyone. On Wednesday nights Pacci offers Wednesday Night Supper Club, dinner served family style in the Private Dining Room, Sassafras. For only $38 guests enjoy appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, dessert and wine. So even if you aren’t a guest you can still go enjoy much of what The Brice has to offer!
I absolutely loved The Brice! The location, the amenities, and the room were special. What made it stand out even more was the service that their staff provides to make sure your time there is the best. The atmosphere was very inviting. I would stay at The Brice again in a heartbeat. It would be great to experience the hotel even more and take a ride on one of their bikes.
The Brice- A Kimpton Hotel is located at 601 East Bay Street.
