Tour of Gran Via Apartment in Madrid, Spain
Madrid, Spain has a plethora of places to stay from hotels to apartments. I decided since there were 3 of us an Airbnb would provide us with more space than a hotel room. It didn’t take much time before I narrowed down a couple of apartments. I literally booked it the night before leaving Marrakech, Morocco. We definitely weren’t disappointed in the apartment.
Location
Gran Via is known to be the “Spanish Broadway.” There are tons of plays up and down the street. The apartment was very close to the theater for The Lion King. There are also a ton of shopping that can be down up and down this long street. There are also tons of restaurants and nightlife around. There is definitely something always going on and as a street that never sleeps this works well for us New Yorkers.
It is also located across the street from the Madrid hop on hop off bus. This came in handy as we had a very limited time to explore Madrid. We were able to purchase tickets at a little stand that also sold trinkets, beverages, snacks, and more. We toured around a bit and then just got off the bus and walked right back to the apartment. So it worked out perfect.
Getting around is very easy. Taxis and buses go up and down this popular street. There are also a few Metro stations within walking distance. The price in a taxi from the airport to the apartment is a flat rate of 30 Euros.
Gran Via Apartment
First and foremost we felt very safe staying here. There is security on the premises till a certain hour. Afterwards the main doors to the building are locked and you need a key to get in and out. There are also 2 spacious elevators that move relativity quickly so there was never much of a long wait for one. The building seemed to be a mix of residences and businesses.
Upon walking in the house there is a nice sized bathroom to the left that has a deep tub. There is also a sign letting you know don’t linger in the shower too long if you want others to be able to have some hot water. Otherwise you have to wait 45 minutes before you can get hot water again. So we were mindful of that. There was also a washer and dryer next to the bathroom.

On the other side was the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The living room had a really comfortable couch. We hung out on that at night and relaxed. Listening to the television was funny because we could hear English being spoken over the dubbed Spanish. The kitchen area was compact, but seemed large. It was very modern and had coffee, tea, and a few other things. Everything a kitchen would need was there for use.

The apartment had 2 bedrooms. Both were spacious with the master obviously being even more spacious. The master even had a custom closet. The beds were comfortable. All the rooms had air conditioning and heating. Since we went during the winter we had the heat going. It worked really well and we were nice and comfy.
An Overview
Although we were staying on busy Gran Via, we never heard any noise below. We heard no outside noise. We did hear a little noise in the hallway, but nothing too disturbing. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The apartment was very spacious and we appreciated that greatly. The hosts were always available for any questions and responded promptly. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend that you do as well when in Madrid.

This AirBnB looks awesome. Very chic and comfortable, and in a great location. You hit the jackpot on that one.

I thought so too. It was in a great area and very nice.

Looks very spacious and modern which is my style. Also being right in the center of everything is a plus too. Photos look amazing. Nice post.
Holly Dayz
Thank you. It was very spacious and modern. Yes, being in the heart of it all is definitely a plus.

Our family rented an apartment for a week when we visited Madrid. It was such an amazing way to accommodate us all and have a kitchen for preparing meals. We felt totally safe and secure and more like a local. I can see why you enjoyed this Airbnb so much. Sounds like a similar experience!
Holly Dayz
It is a great way. I am glad you had a great experience at yours as well!

Would love to spend some time in Madrid. Love the colors in your place, that it was so close to things and transportation. Quiet too. Great find. I love it when Airbnb works out well.
Holly Dayz
Yes, it was a great affordable spot. In the heart of all the action and yet quiet.

Haven’t stayed in an Airbnb in Madrid yet. Gran Via Apartment is the kind of accommodation that travellers will be looking for. Strategically located, close to amenities and local entertainment. The room you featured looks spacious and cosy. That $40.00 discount is tempting too!
Holly Dayz
It is worth it and the apartment was nice and affordable too. The location was the best.

What a nice apartment. So odd for an apartment in Europe to have a bathtub and dryer. I had a red kitchen like this one when I lived in Martinique. It was really fun.
Holly Dayz
Yea, it was a nice deep tub too. They are up to par with amenities.
Indrani
The apartment looks comfortable. Yet to experience an AirBnB but such reviews make it sound so interesting.
Holly Dayz
I love AirBnB. This one was super nice and spacious. I hope you get to try one out soon.

I like the convenience of the apartments you chose. On Gran Via by the theatre area and at a hop-on hop-off spot is great. I’m impressed that the apartment was quiet in that area. You made a fine choice.
Holly Dayz
Yea, it was nice and quiet. Didn’t hear a peep from the outside world.

This looks like a home away from home! I like the kitchen design and that you actually heard no noise even though you were right on Gran Via!
Holly Dayz
It really was. The kitchen was really sleek and I liked the red.

Gran Via Apartment sounds like a great place to stay in Madrid – definitely agree that apartments come in handy when you’re traveling with more than 1 or 2 people. The space is the biggest thing for me. I’m a massive theatre fan, so the fact that it’s close to Madrids version of Broadway is a massive perk! And it’s nice to be in the center of the action but have a great apartment which blocks out the noise. Thanks for the review 🙂
Holly Dayz
Yea it does. Instead of being crammed in a hotel room it is nice to have some space. This would be the perfect spot for you to stay. I told my friend we can never not find our way back to the apartment because it was a few doors down from The Lion King.

Looking to revisit Madrid in the near future and was having a hard time planning where to stay next. I love how spacious the home is and that its more modern. There’s something about a red kitchen that really speaks to me aesthetically and as a digital nomad, good wifi is a must! I appreciate all the intel!
Holly Dayz
I would definitely recommend staying here and hopefully it is available because this is a great location. I know I would stay again. The kitchen was pretty nice.

Looks like you had a lovely Airbnb stay! Very comfortable, clean and functional. Super location too – those hop on hop off buses are great for getting around a new city so that would have been idea to be so close to one of the stops. Can’t wait to visit Madrid one day!
Holly Dayz
We did. It was very enjoyable. They are excellent for getting around.

The apartment looks warm, welcoming and comfortable. Love that the apartment had a great kitchen set up for cooking if needed. We stayed jut off Gran Via when we were in Lisbon last year. Great place always something open most hours of the day.
Holly Dayz
It was a really nice kitchen. The apartment was great.

The Gran Via Apartments do look just like New York. You can get all the hustle and bustle of big city life served up with a slice of Spain on the side.
Holly Dayz
We liked the hustle and bustle, but we are also New Yorkers lol.

Gran Via is definitely a great, central choice to stay in Madrid. We stayed a few blocks away, three minutes walking to Gran Via and were glad to be so well-connected to all the interesting areas in the city.
Holly Dayz
It is a really nice area. It was very enjoyable.

Madrid is a great party town and it never sleeps. Great to know that the hotel is on a vibrant and convenient location, I guess this is one of the biggest concern when I visit Madrid. ~ Thanks!
Holly Dayz
Gran Via definitely didn’t look like it slept. The airbnb was great. I would definitely stay again.

Never been to Madrid yet, and this place looks lovely! I love that it is quite modern with lots of room. Being in a central location is absolutely key in my opinion! 🙂
