I like to read so when I found out that Youtube sensation Lilly Singh was writing a book I was really interested. When she announced that she was going on tour for the book and on some of those stops having a show, I thought that would be awesome. I was really interested to go and decided to go with my sister and niece (who also loves her) in Atlanta.
In case you aren’t aware, Lilly Singh a.k.a iiSuperwomanii is a very popular Youtuber with over 11 million subscribers and counting. She also daily vlogs. Lilly is funny, inspirational, and above all else very positive and as she says, a unicorn. I am all for that, so finding out she was writing a book called How To Be A Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life, I wanted to read it.
Lilly’s book tour has been taking her all over the world and she is still currently on tour. It hasn’t been the normal or typical tour you may think either. She does an entire show giving a talk with tons of audience participation while referencing her book. Afterwards she does a meet and greet with every single person who came out.
The show was an hour-long and very inspirational. It went by pretty quickly because everyone was having so much fun. Even before the show started the audience was up and dancing. Although brief it was really nice to meet Lilly, she was kind. While there I purchased a #GirlLove Rafiki Bracelet from her friend and assistant Kyle. Lilly is all about spreading love and uplifting women. Every #GirlLove Rafiki purchased goes towards primary education for girls in Kenya.
Purchasing a ticket to the show also came with a signed copy of her book. There are 4 parts to the book and 50 chapters. The first part is called Master Your Mind. The second part is called Hustle Hard. 3rd is Make Heads Turn and the last is Be A Unicorn. I have to say I can get through a book pretty quickly, but there are so many gems in this book that I took it upon myself to read it slowly. I wanted to be able to take in what she wrote and really put some of these things into play and more into the forefront.
There is so much I really loved about this book. Some of my favorite chapters are Play Nintendo, Get Uncomfortable, Have Fewer Emotions, Schedule Inspiration, If You Can Do It, You Don’t Have To Say It, and Be Unapologetically Yourself. Not only are these chapters and more filled with great gems, and amazing quotes, but also Lilly always has great examples of how she learned these things. Highly suggest getting this book and reading it.
If you get the opportunity check out Lilly while she is still on her book tour, if not definitely purchase the book it is worth the read. If you get the chance to explore Atlanta a bit do so. We had a lot of fun taking pictures at this Midtown sign!
