First Annual LA COOKIE CON is a SWEET SUCCESS!
Drawing your favorite celebrity chefs and authors from Food Network, Masterchef, TLC, YouTube and participants from all over the United States, the best of the best gathered in Pasadena, CA for the first annual LA Cookie Con.
The event was held at the Pasadena Convention Center, which is 80,000 sq. ft., with over 3,000 tickets sold making this a sold out event. Bright and early at the 9:45am ribbon cutting the line was beyond expectation, wrapping around the block.
The first annual LA Cookie Con was officially a hit with visitors. Celebrities from ABC, Bravo, HBO, Showtime, Nickelodeon, film and more RSVP’d to join the fun.
This is Jenny Rae of Lil’ Rae Cakes and Creator of persona, Phyllis Herman sampling Ye Olde Tyme Bake Shoppe vegan cookies. Next is Maya Brigadeiro confections of sweetened milk, organic cocoa powder, and unsalted butter. Both are simply wonderful.

Orange Clementine was my overall second fave! All orange and lemon, yay!
Noted vegan, John Salley was in early attendance sampling and buying from Coldwater Canyon Provisions, in my opinion the best tasting exhibitor at the event! Rondo Mieczkowski offers family and heirloom recipes crafted in small batches with finest Organic or pesticide-free California produce. Kosher ingredients. All Vegan. 100% Gluten-Free. Award-winning jams, pickles, relishes, chutneys, more! He had spicy pickles, and spiced crab apples that were out of this world! Here are some of my other top faves.
Karen from Copenhagen Pastry sampled light, flaky Danish pastries from authentic recipes.
Melissa’s Produce had cute carrot key chains that turn into a handbag and a tie-dye shirts!
Bex Bakes had a great gluten-free demo. Her coconut cookies are the perfect texture and taste. Could eat a handful. Yum!
Messy Little Smile non-toxic lip balms were super popular and tasted really good!
Drive Me Cookie sampled made to order ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Velvet Rope Bake Shop had seriously beautiful chocolate truffles that were fab! And cookies too.
Whole Foods Market had incredible cookies, amazing white chocolate chip!!
Charlie Pops Organic Cake Pops are gorgeous works of delectable art.
Cream by Crystal sampled amazing mini cheesecakes that melt in your mouth!
Jen and Joes check your grocery aisle for their homestyle cookie dough. Frozen into individual servings and ready to bake anytime.
Sweet Beginnings teased with sweet potato full pie slices during the current trend of bite size desserts. This pie was fresh and rich with amazing crust, the best part!
Call Me Cookie team has spunk and great tasting cookies that get delivered to your door. SO GOOD!
Choctal Ice Cream sampled single-origin chocolate and vanillas from rainforests around the globe in ice cream! With eight distinct, robust flavor origins-four chocolates and four vanillas. Incredible!
DK’s Donuts from Santa Monica dominated with Uber Purple Yam Donuts. The original and first uber donut in the world.
Granola Mama’s Handmade has been around for a few years now and is constantly better quality and taste than most granolas sold over the counter. Try it, you’ll be hooked!
Organic Pastures Raw milk samples saved the day. Yum! You can even camp with the cows, check out their site for more.
Tasty Pop Up Pastries are yummy gourmet pie dough plus pop tarts in flavors like Salted Caramel Apple and Cinnamon Sugar. So good!
Alberts Petite Sweets is so talented and these are addictive.
Happily Ever After Confectionary was my third fave of the entire event. Really good! Happily Ever After Confectionery is an online bakery providing tasty desserts made with only with the best organic, locally bought ingredients!
Baking with Melissa will come to your child’s party in the greater Los Angeles area with her awesome baked goods to frost with the kids posing with Sarah’s Skinny Sweets healthy gluten-free paleo cookie baker.
I enjoyed the cake and cookie decorating contests. Thousands of pastry, dessert, snack and beverage samples were eaten. Happy attendees were treated to incredible tasty products and quality exhibitors, with small businesses getting the focus.
Lets hope for double the space and exhibitors next year. Get your tickets early and enjoy what Pasadena has to offer, its sure to be another sold out event.
