Throwback Thursday: Indianapolis, Indiana

I have traveled to many places, but some haven’t been as recent as others. In honor of the infamous Throwback Thursday, I am throwing myself back to Indianapolis, Indiana. I have had the pleasure of visiting Indianapolis a couple of times. Once in the dead of winter and the other during spring/summer time. Despite my dislike for snow it was still a very beautiful city.

Both times I stayed in an area called Carmel. There were very nice houses and plenty of shopping around the area. It is clean and beautiful. They have some great parks as well. I tried to play tennis and some basketball. Unfortunately to this day tennis is just not my sport. Besides going to visit friends I had the opportunity to go to an Indianapolis Colts game. I love football and at that time, that was my number one team.

Having the opportunity to go to the game at the Lucas Oil Stadium was a dream come true for me. The downtown area is really nice. I was certainly in the right place with everyone in their Colts gear. I felt at home.  The crowd was amazing. It was the best football game I have ever been to. It was great to hear the roar of the crowd. Of course the Colts came home with a win!

I also had the opportunity to go to the Canal Walk. It was really pretty. People were walking around and riding bikes. There are gondolas, pedal boats, and more that can be rented. I walked around and took in the atmosphere.

While there I tried to go to a restaurant called Bub’s Burger and Ice Cream. On the wall I saw they had one of those food eating competitions where you try to eat a burger called The Big Ugly (seen on “Man v. Food”) . Unfortunately it was so crowded in there I didn’t get the opportunity to actually eat there. Next time I will definitely try.

Overall Indianapolis is a great city with some great people. I would love to visit there again.
