  • If you are looking for affordable hotels or ones with a little more space look outside of Manhattan. Brooklyn and especially Queens have a lot of hotels all over. If you fly into NYC, you are already flying into Queens, so consider it!
  • “The City” as us New Yorkers refer to Manhattan offers many free WiFi at the LinkNYC kiosks. You are also able to charge up your devices there.

  • If you want another way to get around, you can always hop on a Citi Bike and sight see. There are so many places to drop the bike off and do your thing. Just please do your best to stay in the bike lanes and abide by the lights and rules of the road. Us New Yorkers can’t stand when a biker is in the middle of the street like a car.
  • While taking the subway, don’t get overwhelmed with which train goes where. It is not as terrible as you may think. Just in case though feel free to download CityMapper. Not only can you use it NYC, but also in other cities around the world. Also learn more about how to navigate the subway here.

  • Don’t be afraid of eating in small or eateries that you may not have heard of. There are a lot of hidden gems all over the boroughs. Just make sure they have an A letter grade! Try a bacon, egg, and cheese from a bodega (corner store.) Don’t worry if you see a cat, it’s normal.
