What can I say, I love Las Vegas! I have been so many times and always find new things to do while also enjoying things I have done several times. It is a great place with much more to offer than what most think. I also love showing what I like to call “Vegas Virgins” around. So when my friend who had never been to Vegas wanted to go with me to see what it was all about, I was happy to take her on my quick 36 hours in Las Vegas!
Once we touched down we headed to our hotel, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. After waiting on a line for awhile we were finally able to check in where my friend gleefully let the lady know it was her first time in Las Vegas. She upgraded our room. After taking a moment to figure out which elevator to get on we finally made our way to our room.
The room was very spacious. I contemplated on doing a cart-wheel, but refrained. The room was very nice and the bathroom had a huge tub that I really wish I had gotten the opportunity to use. The room also had a great view of the strip and the Bellagio Fountains. We freshened up and headed out to get some much-needed food.
I have heard from friends and others that Blueberry Hill is the place to go for breakfast. So we headed to one that was about 5 minutes away from the hotel. One of the gentleman working there gave us some sample fudge while we waited to be seated. It was so good! Besides the OK service, the food was amazing. I enjoyed my chocolate chip pancakes, while my friend drenched her waffles in syrup.
After a fulfilling breakfast we knew we had to walk it off so we headed back to the hotel before venturing out. We decided to check out the pool area and discovered the Flow Rider. There were a ton of guys in a machine that imitated surfing and wiping out, it was fun to watch. There were two pools, one an over 21 area and a nice view of the strip.
We decided to hit the strip. My friend made a mission to get a drink in a souvenir cup. After a few stops she got a pina colada in a Paris cup. We continued to walk around and stumbled upon an Asian prayer area across from Serendipity 3. There were a ton of people taking pictures and praying. It was very pretty.
After grabbing some water and taking a moment under the misting sprays we continued on around the strip ending up at The Linq. The Linq area has a ton of shops and restaurants as well as the High Roller. We took a peak inside the hotel, which looked nice. There are murals aligned on the walls outside of the Linq. They had changed from the last time I had been there so I had to get some photos.
There was also a big Polaroid picture frame for a photo-op. I had seen it there on my last trip, but didn’t get to utilize it, I changed that this time. After you take the pictures, you can actually go inside the Insta store and print your pictures, buy frames, and so much more. Upstairs from there was a Polaroid museum.
The Polaroid Museum was pretty cool. It is free to check out. There were old cameras, art work, and great pictures of celebrities taken by some talented photographers. It was very colorful and fun to check out. It was a hidden gem right in the Linq area.
Walking around a bit more we started walking back to the hotel checking out the sites and sounds of the strip on the way back. We wanted to grab some food and kick our feet up in the room. We enjoyed the view out of our window. As the sun began to set, I could hear the Bellagio fountain show start-up. We jumped out of relax mode to run to the window and watch the beauty.
A little nap was necessary before we showered and headed out for the night. We ended up going to the club, Chateau at the Paris hotel. I am not a club person, but I do enjoy going to Chateau when I am in Vegas. We headed over, got a couple of free drinks and watched folks dancing. It was so much fun to watch because a circle was made giving everyone a chance to jump in.
We were having too much fun at Chateau and after a few hours, we headed back to the hotel to get some sleep. The next morning we went back to Blueberry Hill to indulge in their breakfast, before heading over to the Neon Museum. A tour awaited us in the blazing hot sun to see the Neon Boneyard. It was a great tour even though that was the worst heat I have ever felt visiting Las Vegas.
It was a great quick trip to one of my favorite cities. My friend loved it so much she went back a few weeks later for her birthday. Every time I visit I experience something new and have a great time. I look forward to going back again!
