One Word…AWESOME!!
It is one word..AMAZING!
One of my favorite restaurants, where you can get this frozen treat is Serendipity 3.
Serendipity 3 also have some really good food, and other great desserts to choose from! They have a few different locations that include New York City, Florida, and Las Vegas (at Caesar’s Palace). It is a famous and well-loved restaurant for a reason, especially by me!
The original one where it all started is in New York City on the East Side.
Serendipity is known for certain things…
1. For the celebrities that have walked in and out their doors. (Taylor Swift, Beyonce & Jay-Z, Katie Holmes, & Bill Clinton just to name a few)
2. The Guinness Book of World Records, for the $1000 Golden Opulence Sundae.
****Golden Opulence Sundae is made using three to five scoops of rich Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23k edible gold leaf. The chocolate syrup used is from melted Amedei Porcelana, one of the world’s most expensive chocolates; and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela’s coast. The sundae is then adorned with “exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold covered almonds/dragets, chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries.” Added to the dessert is a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar, made of salt-free American Golden caviar, known for its sparkling golden color. It’s sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. Edible gold leaf is made from pure gold that is compressed or rolled into very thin sheets that are only a few micrometers thick and contain no other metals or impurities. It is finally topped off with a gilded sugar flower and sprinkled with small flakes of more edible gold. ****
Not to mention, you need to make a reservation 48 hours in advance to get one!
However, I was told by the staff in Las Vegas you can get it the same day there.
3. Their Guinness Book of World Records again for the $295 Le Burger Extravagant, which is the world’s most expensive burger.
**** Le Burger Extravagant, contains Japanese Waygu beef, 10-herb white truffle butter, smoked Pacific sea salt, 18-month cheddar, shaved black truffles, a quail egg, and a white truffle-buttered roll. It is also French-sounding, making it that much fancier. But what really drives up the price is the solid gold, diamond-encrusted toothpick holding the whole thing together.****
4. The kitschy whimsical atmosphere in their restaurant (specifically New York City)
5. The lines out the door to get in.
6. The HUGE menu. Check it out at: http://www.serendipity3.com/food.htm
7. Last by certainly not least is their Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (you know this had to be on the list!)
If you are one of those people who loves to look for celebs then Serendipity 3 is a great place to start.
Serendipity 3 in New York City has a very whimsical look to it. All the tables are and chairs are different. There are all kinds of kitschy things when you first walk in. It really is just something you have to see.
My absolute favorite thing is the Frrozen Hot Chocolate. If you have never had one you need to get one. It is amazing. They have also began to make different flavors. I was extremely happy to find out they have a Mint Frrrozen Hot Chocolate.
All their food and desserts are severed in big portions. So I suggest coming with an appetite. My favorite entrée is the lemon chicken and asparagus. It also comes with a salad which I absolutely love. It is so fresh and amazing. It makes me dance in my seat.
The atmosphere is very fun as well. Serendipity 3 Las Vegas is very hip with a full bar on deck. Either way you will enjoy the restaurant. Las Vegas also has a walk up window, so if you didn’t want to sit down you can order and keep going. They now even have a cookbook with their recipes including the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, which Jackie O couldn’t even get.
So if you are in a city with a Serendipity 3, and looking for some great food or just some really good dessert, you should head over and delight your taste buds.

Have you ever had a Frrozen Hot Chocolate or been to Serendipity 3? Let me know what you ordered and how it was.
ATM Cupcakes!!
When I think of Sprinkles, I think of innovation.
Not only do they make good cupcakes, but their expansion, and ways to get it out to the public, are pretty cool!
There are many Sprinkles in different cities, so if you have never had one, I suggest you see if one is near you. (www.sprinkles.com)
While other cupcake places are closing their doors, Sprinkles keeps expanding. Not only have they popped up at several new locations, but they have also expanded into cookies and ice cream….
I have yet to try their cookies and ice cream. I tried to in Las Vegas, but they ran out of my favorite, mint chocolate chip ice cream.
I have personally been to four different locations; the original one in Beverly Hills, Lenox Mall in Atlanta, New York City on the Upper East Side, and Las Vegas. They all have something in common…a Cupcake ATM.
Yes, I said Cupcake ATM!
Being innovative they have taken steps to open the first Cupcake ATM.
This is pretty cool for different reasons:
1. You can get cupcakes anytime 24 hours a day (unless the ATM runs out)
2. The line in the street for the ATM hasn’t been as long, from what I have seen. People will stop and watch you purchase your cupcakes.
3. When they run out of the cupcake you want inside, like they did with me, I just went outside and used the ATM and got what I wanted.
It is pretty cool getting cupcakes from the ATM. They show what looks to be live feed of your cupcake(s) being picked out and coming down the conveyor belt.
Now there are some cons to using this:
1. Cupcakes are priced in the store at $3.75. When I used the machine each cupcake was $4.25.
2. It’s an ATM. Debit/Credit Cards only. No cash and no change.
3. The cupcakes come out in individual boxes. So if you have more than one you will need a bag. I anticipated this and got one prior to using the machine. I had to go inside and get one. If they are closed you can’t get a bag.
4. If you get different flavors the boxes aren’t marked. It would be easier if they were, especially if they are for different people. Instead you have to open them up to see which is which.
So if you ever get the chance stop by Sprinkles and check out the ATMs.
Their website has the locations of where they are.
If you have been there or used the ATM let me know how your experience was.
GRIDDLE CAFE – LOS ANGELES
It is great to eat any time of day in my opinion. One of my favorite spots to get breakfast is at The Griddle Cafe on Sunset in Hollywood,California.
It can be a little pricey, but I never leave there hungry. In fact I always have to ask for a box to take home leftovers. There pancakes are huge! The size of your plate and bigger than your face. They actually come in stacks of 3. I ask for only one because there is no way I can eat 3. I can barely eat one.
I love their Yellow Brick Road pancake. I always get eggs and bacon with it as well. The bacon is even big. They also have some really good french toast.

The atmosphere is nice.
If you don’t get a booth you may end up a little close to other patrons at the table as the place is small. They do have a back room for private parties.
If you are visiting LA and want to see some celebrities you have a good shot at The Griddle Cafe. I have seen some celebrities attempting to finish their food.
Some things to note:
They close at 4pm.
There have been times where I have walked right in and got a table immediately and other times where me and my friends waited over an hour for a table.
They do have some outdoor seating, but the line of people standing outside waiting to eat will stare you down to hurry up.
If you follow The Griddle Cafe on twitter (@thegriddlecafe) they tweet passwords and off menu items. Saying the password to your waiter can get you some great stuff.
I once saw a password that got you free mimosas!
I also hear The Griddle Cafe is opening up another location at the SLS Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas!
This is certainly a place you must go if you haven’t been yet.
You won’t be disappointed!
BEST ICE CREAM EVER!
I was scrolling through twitter (@hollydayztravel) when I saw Food & Wine Magazine’s twitter talking about ice cream sandwiches.
That automatically made me think of Diddy Riese in California.
