Things To Do In Downtown Disneyland, California

If you know me then you know I love Disney. If you didn’t know now you do. Even more so I am the biggest Mickey Mouse fan! When I was 2 years old I pulled an entire display of Mickey Mouse stuffed animals down at Disneyland. So my love stems from way back when.

Living in Los Angeles where Downtown Disney and Disneyland is just a drive away has always been awesome to me. There are many things to do and see before you even get into Disneyland or California Adventure for that matter. Disney is about a 45 minute to an hour drive away from Los Angeles, depending on that good ole’ LA traffic. So if you are looking for some things to do in Downtown Disneyland, here is some information.
Once you get there, you can park for free for up to 3 hours unless you get a parking validation from certain locations and then you will receive up to 5 hours free. Depending where in the lot you park it is about a 5 – 8 minute walk to the entrance.

There are a ton of places you can eat or get drinks while there. Some of these options include The Rainforest Cafe, The Voodoo Lounge at the House of Blues, and ESPN Zone. My favorite though is Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and the Express version. You can either dine in and be served or go in order and find your own seat outside. I always order a shrimp po’ boy. They also have beignets. If you want you can even buy a box of Cafe Du Monde beignet mix while you’re there.

Downtown Disney also has a bunch of places to shop. The LEGO Store is pretty cool. They have a bunch of Disney characters made out of legos outside of the store. I see a lot of guys and little boys get a kick out of the RideMakerz store where they can build their own toy cars and trucks. By far, in my opinion, the best store is The World of Disney!

The World of Disney has the biggest selection of Disney everything on the West coast. The store is HUGE! They have everything, kitchen ware, stuffed animals, trading pins, clothes, and so much more. I have had several field days in that store. I still regret that I didn’t buy the Mickey Mouse travel laundry bag there. I have never been able to find it again. That store is definitely a place I have had to try and not go too crazy spending all my money in.

If you are looking for some entertainment in Downtown Disney you have some good options. One such option is the House of Blues Stage where I have seen people lined up to go to a performance. If jazz is your thing, then the Ralph Brennan Jazz Kitchen has a Jazz Club. There is also the ESPN Zone Sports Arena, and an AMC Movie Theater. There are a lot of different things you can see and do in Downtown Disney. The atmosphere is great too. Anaheim is a beautiful city and a nice change of pace from Los Angeles.
Have you ever been to Downtown Disney in Anaheim? What were you favorite places there?
