Review on the Weekender Gel Memory Foam Pillow
If you didn’t know already, I have done plenty of research on pillows and have been on the hunt for a great one for myself. I still use the Layla Kapok Pillow, but there is of course others I want to try. A friend of mine gifted me with the Weekender Gel Memory Foam Pillow that was recommended by a chiropractor. So of course I was excited to give it a try.
What is gel memory foam?
Gel Memory foam pillows, are pillows made with beads or gel particles that have been infused in the memory foam. These types of pillows typically are great at dispersing heat. It also helps increase airflow to keep the pillow cool. When gel is combined with memory foam it is supposed to help with spinal alignment. The gel and memory foam allows for the pillow to mold to you.
The Pillow
The Weekender Gel Memory Foam pillow is said to provide pressure relief and comfort. The gel is temperature regulating to create comfortable sleep conditions. It also says the design allows for maximum air flow. They also come in 3 different sizes, standard, queen, and king.
My Experience
I was excited to try this pillow as sometimes the Layla pillow wasn’t aligning correctly with my neck. The pillow arrived in a small box and was compressed. I carefully cut the plastic off and gave it over 24 hours to let it come to life and fluff up properly before I used it. First thoughts were it felt nice and soft and I couldn’t wait to try it.
I have been using this pillow for about 2 1/2 months. It is a standard size pillow. I do wish it was a little bigger to fully support the head, neck, shoulder alignment, so a queen size would have probably been a bit more comfortable.
It definitely doesn’t get hot, I haven’t had one night were it felt too hot or as if I needed to flip it. It molds well to my head and neck and I don’t feel like I need to sleep with more than one pillow. I am mostly a back sleeper, but even sleeping on my side it is very comfortable.
As I said before, I do wish the pillow was a little bigger, there have been a few nights where I switched over to my Layla Kapok pillow because I kept sliding down off the pillow. Sliding down and coming out of alignment caused neck pain and a few headaches. So I do recommend the pillow, but get a bigger size if you happen to move in your sleep.
Have you ever tried this pillow? What pillow do you recommend?

I had this pillow for a number of years in the qween size. Absolutely LOVED it! A few years later, I upgraded all my children’s and guest pillows. Recently moved and down sized. My kids only wanted their pillows and fought over any extras for their families! Unfortunately I am now without a pillow and when I went to replace them, I was blown away by the price! That’s the only issue. Going to wait for Amazon prime days or black Friday sales.
