The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on St. Simons Island, GA
I am a firm believer of speaking things into existence and I feel I did so when visiting The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort. I had been staring at the beautiful photos for over a year and when I finally got the opportunity to visit I was excited! I knew of the Golden Isles, but I had never been to St. Simons Island, which is absolutely quaint and gorgeous! This resort is a jewel and a must when visiting.
Location
The King and Prince Beach and Gold Resort is located on St. Simons Island. It is about 25 minutes away from the Brunswick airport, an hour or so from Jacksonville, Florida, an hour and a half from Savannah, Georgia, and 4 hours from Atlanta. St. Simons Island is easily accessible by car. Once there you can either drive or bike around as there are 21 plus miles of bike paths. The town is so quaint with the nicest people. Southern hospitality at it’s finest.
The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
The King and Prince is part of the prestigious Historical Hotels of America. It started out as a club in the 1930s before turning into a hotel in 1941. Not too long after it became a naval training and coast watch facility before turning back to a hotel and expanding. It has been through 81 years and it shows through the beauty of the resort and the amazing people who work there.
As soon as I arrived everyone was greeting me and showing their true southern hospitality. Check-in was very quick. The lobby area was very nice. A business center with iMacs, living room type area with a fire-place was directly to the right. It was very warm and inviting. There is plenty of plush comfortable seating.
A little further over was a bar and the resort restaurant, ECHO which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating. It was so beautiful and all the natural light was filtering in from outside. The entire staff was extremely accommodating not only making great suggestions but, fixing problems as quickly as possible. The King and Prince is also doing their part in going Green! As soon as I laid eyes on the resort I knew I wasn’t going to want to leave, my room sealed the deal!

Rooms
There are several types of rooms to choose from. The King and Prince have oceanfront, suites, and premium rooms. There are also partial ocean views, resort view, standard rooms, and even beach villas and full on residences. My room was located in the Historic Building which used to be the location of the original front desk and lobby area.

Walking into my room I was very excited. The room was a great size and looked directly out onto the beach. I immediately opened the back door and walked outside. The view was incredible! There was a bench swing and I had my own patio to sit outside and enjoy the beauty. I then went back inside to check out my room.

Once I came back in the room I took a look at the living room area. The couch was comfortable and there was a television and a table. Walking up a couple of steps was my king sized bed with a couple of welcome chocolates waiting for me. A very nice work desk was right across. There was another television and a mini fridge in the room. Two complimentary bottles of water were on the desk that I quickly put in the fridge.

There was a nice sized closest with a safe inside for all precious valuables. The bathroom was a great size and came with double sinks and plenty of counter space. There was also a coffee/tea maker in the bathroom with cups, Starbucks coffee, and Tazo tea. I was happy to be able to make my morning tea. A few times while get dressed with no background noise in the room, I could hear the sound of the ocean.
I had the opportunity to peak into a few other rooms at the resort and they were wow worthy. The vast majority of the rooms have some type of ocean view. If you are traveling with a group of friends or family there is plenty of space to spread out. 2 and 3 bedroom villas exist, fully equipped with a kitchen and washer and dryer. Villas are individually owned and operated, each having its own personal touch. Both villa buildings have gas grills, private pools, gated parking, and a hot tub.
The Historic Building also boasts the Governor’s Suite, which is on two floors. The first floor has a nice spacious living room area, half bath, and a wet bar. Once up the curved stairway the room has a king sized bed and jetted tub. Both floors have incredible views of the ocean.

There are so many beautiful rooms throughout the resort to accommodate different needs. Even if a suite or villa is not needed there are so many spacious rooms to choose from.
Hotel Amenities
As I stated before the villas have their own private pools, hot tubs, gated parking, and gas grills. The entire resort has free parking. There are 3 other pools that have a great view of the ocean. I enjoyed sitting out by the pool, it was very relaxing. If you have kids they would also have a blast. There is a pool that is a foot deep and another 3 feet. There is even a little sand play area.

Not too far away from the pool guests can enjoy food and drinks from on site restaurant ECHO and still be able to relax or enjoy the kids. There is also a really nice long couch with a fire pit.
On site restaurant ECHO is St. Simons only oceanfront restaurant giving you an opportunity to dine in and outdoors with ample seating. Like the resort, ECHO is rich is history. The name stemming from World War II, it was the former classrooms and office quarters. Using radar as a new technology was very important in communicating with allies, hence the name.
The staff led by Execute Chef James Flack are extremely nice and accommodate any dietary needs you may have. I got to indulge in many different food items that were delicious including crab cakes benedict with potato wedges, shrimp and grits, and a caramelized butternut squash bisque. Although I don’t really drink they have a full bar with many different beers and drinks to choose from. There was even a tiramisu drink I tried and it was pretty good!

The King and Prince also has a Royal Treatment Cottage to unwind with a really nice massage. It would be awesome if they did facials too. A gym is on site for all your workout needs, but I saw so many people taking walks and running on the beach during low tide. There is also two complimentary tennis courts on site. A pro is available for lessons.
Of course there is an award-winning golf course! The golf course is located about 25 minutes or so away from the resort. Not only are there 18 holes of challenging beautiful greens, but there is a driving range. Next time I have to go take some swings at the range! There is also a chipping and putting green.
As I said before there is a business area with iMacs. The resort also has free wi-fi. The Oleander Building is dog friendly. They do a great job with the up keep because you would never know a dog ever stayed in the room. St. Simons Island has over 21 miles of bike paths. Ocean Motion allows you to rent bikes, baskets, helmet, and a lock so you can cruise around and is literally steps away from the resort.
If you are looking for a place to hold a wedding or a business meeting it gets no better than this. They have several different beautiful locations to hold big or small weddings indoors and outdoors. With the incredible views The King and Prince have you wouldn’t be disappointed. There are also ample spaces to hold meetings!
The King and Prince Golf & Beach Resort is such a beautiful place. I have been to plenty of places that I have really liked, but this place captured my heart right along with the rest of St. Simons Island. Everything from the people, to the views, and more make this a more than pleasant place to be and wanting you to come back over and over again.
Have you ever been to the King & Prince?
Disclaimer: Thank you to The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort for inviting me. All opinions and views are my own.

The view alone makes me want to plan a trip right now. I’d definitely be hanging out on the bench swing with a drink, in the pool, or by the bar and fire pit with friends. Based on the photos, the food seems very fancy so it will be an experience to remember. The rooms look to be decorated to where you wouldn’t want to leave, but going outside will make you not want to go back inside. I would say a visit is in the near future for me. And I hope I will have some chocolates waiting for me as well.
Holly Dayz
You would love it! Especially relaxing while looking out at the ocean with your drink in hand. The food was pretty fancy. Yea it is tough deciding to enjoy being out or in.

I was recently thinking about a trip to coastal Georgia. I know there are beautiful places in theory but now I know one that I can visit. We love biking so we would be taking advantage of the bike trails for sure. We are going to pin this article to our dream US trip board. Thank you for putting it together.

Great review of a wonderful resort. I’d been staring at picks of it for a long time too as a writer friend of mine wrote about ti. I really liked that they had a variety of room styles to choose from and pet-friendly rooms that smelled refreshingly clean. With the walkable beach, pools and fabulous dining, you wouldn’t have to leave the resort if you didn’t want to.

The sunset just blew my mind. Wish I could transport myself into this place just to view that sunset. The fire pit looks interesting to wind down with some drinks and socialize. Overall it looks like a lovely place to stay and relax and enjoy the sunsets in Georgia. I’m gonna recommend this to my friends and family who live there.
