What To Do In Atlantic City, NJ Besides Gamble

Atlantic City, New Jersey is about two hours from New York City and an hour and a half from Philly. Although one automatically thinks of gambling like you would with Las Vegas, there is other things to do in Atlantic City besides that. I have partnered with Hotels.com to bring you some ideas of things that can be done in AC besides gamble!

There are many hotels in Atlantic City to choose from. Some are near the beach and others near the bay. Either way you can’t go wrong. Some are newer than others, but you can always hotel hop and check some others out while there.

Pool/Pool Parties

Many of the hotels have pools, some multiple. Some even have heated outdoor pools to enjoy in colder weather. Either way taking a nice dip in the pool is a lot of fun and a great way to relax. In the warmer months there are plenty of pool parties or you can head over to the indoor pool at Harrah’s where they turn it into a night club.

Go Shopping

Do you love to shop? Maybe you forgot something and need to pick up a couple of items. No problem, because there are tons of stores. In fact there is an entire Tanger outlet mall. Some stores include but are not limited to Nike, Victoria’s Secret, Adidas, Coach, Finishline, Forever 21, H&M, and tons more. You could walk around the area, shop, and grab some food, just shop till you drop!

Hit The Beach

@kane521

The beaches in Atlantic City are free, so why not take advantage? Take a walk, a swim, lay out and catch some sun, or go for a run. During the summer months there are lifeguards on duty. Many boogie and body board. I have gone to the beach many time and enjoyed my time there. There is plenty of space, with 7 miles of coastline to spread out and you don’t even need to be staying at one of the hotels to access it!

Boardwalk/Steel Pier

Steel Pier @47Piers

If you need a break from relaxing on the beach head over to the boardwalk or steel pier. There is 4 miles of boardwalk to walk up and down or take a run. Shops and restaurants can be found along the boardwalk and of course you can always walk into a hotel and grab some food! Steel pier is also a fun times with rides and games. Take the kids or have your inner kid come out on the carousel or ferris wheel.

Lighthouse/Aquarium

@Luckyckc

Check out one of the oldest lighthouses in the country, first list in 1857. It is 171 feet tall and has 228 steps to the top. You could also head over to the aquarium and check out 100 different species they have. The Atlantic City Aquarium also has SEA shows. You could even have a picnic while there, get a sightseeing cruise in the area, and a lot more.

So just know if you are thinking about checking out Atlantic City, you don’t necessarily have to gamble. There is plenty of other things to do, even if all you wanted to do was grab some food and relax in your room for a staycation type of vibe, enjoy.
