Testing Out Twist by Ouidad Conditioners
Ouidad is a high end curly hair brand that many curly haired people use. For some the price may be offsetting, so here is a more affordable line from Ouidad called Twist. I ordered a bunch of products from them to test out. So far I have tried out 2 of the conditioners and a hair mask. I will give you a brief overview of each product and my opinion on them. For reference I have fine, thin, wavy curly hair.
Twist by Ouidad says that their formulas don’t contain any mineral oil, petrolatum, parabens, phthalates, or harsh sulfates, D4, D5, and D6 silicones. Some of their products contain aloe leaf juice, coconut milk, and quinoa. They have a hair quiz on their site that will help you choosing the correct products for your hair. I did purchase their recommendations, but also veered off a little just to try it out.
Gimmie It All
Gimmie It All is a 4-in-1 Hydrating Conditioner. It says it is a quick cleanse and condition, can be used as a leave in, or even a styler. This conditioner is a level 3 in moisture. It is said to remove build up, rehydrate and define curls, as well as repair damaged curls.
My bottle came with a top that requires you to squeeze out the conditioner rather than pump. The conditioner is pretty thick and I have a hard time getting it out. I end up unscrewing the top to get it out. I don’t care too much for the smell of it. It does however have great slip and makes it very easy to detangle my hair, which at times can be a major task. It leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturized. I haven’t used it as a styler or leave in, especially since its very thick and would way my hair down.
Weather Or Not
Weather Or Not is an Element-Defying Conditioner. It says that it is supposed to be a great base in fighting frizz and has a level 1 in moisture. I will have to test out using different stylers with this conditioner as my hair has ended up frizzy in this terribly humid summer.
This bottle had a pump and it is very easy to get out. I like the smell of this one as well. The hair quiz recommended this conditioner to me over the one above, so clearly they know what they are talking about. I have had no issues detangling my hair with this conditioner either. I personally prefer this one over the other.
Sunday Feels
Sunday Feels is a Deeply Hydrating Hair Mask. This mask is supposed to improve shine and nourish curls. It is a level 3 in moisture. If you are in a rush the jar says in 3-5 minutes is all it takes to him improve your hair. It also suggests leaving it on over night. I am not into overnight, it’s either a few minutes or a few hours during the day.
The product is very thick, but it made my hair really soft. My hair did end up a bit frizzy the next day, but again that could be due to stylers. I really like it though and will continue to use it.
These are some nice products to try. I still have some more to test out. I highly suggest you check out these products. They can be found at Target, Walmart, and directly on their site. On their site each product is $9.99 and they are currently doing 15% off and free shipping for a limited time.
Twin A
Great review!! The prices aren’t too bad. Definitely would have to see if the company makes products for my hair texture. Always looking for products that works wonders.
