A Taste of Los Angeles

Living and visiting Los Angeles has afforded me the opportunity to learn and try many things. There are so many great places to eat and things to see it would take ample time. Even with living in Los Angeles I still have not done and seen it all. Even so, here is a little taste of LA.
I have many favorite spots in Los Angeles, but along with my friend, we only went to a few. Some are a bit “touristy,” although one particular location I never seen an abundance of people at. We also went to some places to eat that I have been several times as well as a couple of new spots. Not only that, but I get the opportunity to debunk the myth many believe…it does rain in Southern California. It also gets cold. Many people never believe me, but you can see for yourself!
So with my good friend Justin and the very cool Mazda 3 we went and had a great time!

Have you ever been to any of the locations we visited or eaten at any of the restaurants? How was your experience?

I was in LA last July and I had to go to Roscoe’s to try it out. I also went to Runyon Canyon because that was on my list of things to do. The trip was fun, but next time I need to research more places to go
Holly Dayz
Nice which one did you go to? Runyon Canyon is cool, but there are other great places to hike and get some great views.

You had me at chicken and waffles LOL. I’ve never been to LA but now I know where to eat when I finally do get there.
Holly Dayz
There are a ton more places to eat too that is the crazy part.

I went to LA as a young adult but haven’t been there since. I need to put it on my “must do”l list.
Holly Dayz
Oh I hope you go back soon. Nice place to visit.

Aww, love seeing a visitors perspective on my city! I love driving through neighborhoods gawking at houses. Your reaction to some of them not having lawns was funny. I’m sure they have a massive backyard to make up for it!
Holly Dayz
Well I guess I am a visitor because I wasn’t born there just lived there. I already knew they didn’t have lawns lol had to let the people know. And some folks don’t really have big backyards either.

“It does rain in southern California” LOL! Thanks for listing all the hot spots – will keep in mind for a future visit!
Holly Dayz
It really does.

I’ve never been to LA but I look forward to visiting one day soon. I love seeing LA through your experience. Thanks for sharing!
Holly Dayz
Thanks. I hope you get to go soon.

If I make it out that way, I want to do a couple key things I’ve heard so much about – as already mentioned, Roscoe’s, Runyon Canyon and In and Out Burger.
Holly Dayz
Great choices. Runyon is cool, there are other great places to work out.

I’ve been to LA once and had a great time. I skipped the chicken and waffles but will try it next time.
Holly Dayz
Next time perhaps.

I’ve only been to L.A. once and I made sure I went to Roscoe’s. That food was so freaking good, I was in a food coma afterwards. I can also testify to L.A. being COLD!
Holly Dayz
Awesome. Yea it was good although it was honestly just OK last time I went. They didn’t make the waffle very well.
Miss Jamila
I’ve never been to LA, but it’s on my list.
Holly Dayz
Very nice place to visit…

I love LA but surprisingly I’ve never eaten at any of these places! I guess I’ve been hiding under a rock LOL.
LiveLifeWell,
Allison
Holly Dayz
There are so many places to eat out there. Now you have more to try.
Jonna
I’ve never been to the West Coast. But I think now that I’m more okay with flying I’ll have to get to LA.
Holly Dayz
The West is cool to visit. I hope you get there soon to check it out.
Antoinette Cain
Wonderful lost. I have always wanted to visit LA. Hopefully, I’ll make it happen soon.
Holly Dayz
I hope you make it happen soon as well. There is much to see, do, and eat.

so many amazing places to eat in this city, well as i would expect of a big city i guess. the size of the waffles was amazing. Ha ha the smokey the bear signs bought childhood memories rushing back to me. Smokey featured in my favourite golden book when i was kid
Holly Dayz
There are plenty of places. I didn’t even hit the surface of all the places I love to get food from in LA. Yea Smokey is an icon.

Wow. My home city LA 🙂 it’s good to read a different perspective.
Have you tried food trucks. That’s where fun is these days 🙂
Holly Dayz
Nope but I spotted a ton in Studio City that I am going to check out.

Roscoe seems to be an interesting spot for me to visit in case I visit LA
Holly Dayz
It is interesting. It is an LA staple

I usually stay around the beaches when I’m in LA. For me, the best place to eat is Killer Shrimp in Marina Del Rey. They are famous for their shrimp (who would have thunk, ha). I love LA, as long as I stay away from the touristy areas. It is such a cool city with a very unique vibe.
Holly Dayz
LA has a laid back vibe. That is cool will check that place out whenever I head back to that particular area.

Charging if you don’t finish your meal…sounds like they’re trying to counter the LA body-image trend.
Holly Dayz
haha didn’t think about that!

We spent 5 days in LA last November. I loved the observatory – the view at sunset was amazing. I really enjoyed In and Out but hated all the pancakes and waffles… sweet stuff is just not my thing/
Holly Dayz
It is one of my favorite places. In N Out is good and affordable.

I need to make this long due trip soon!
