BEING A TRAVEL NURSE WITH MINCI STENSON

My name is Minci Sekou Stenson and I am currently a Travel Nurse with a specialty in OB. I started to take travel more seriously once my father passed away and one of the things he told me was to travel the world and make a difference. So I quit my job and decided to do travel nursing and during the five years I’ve had pleasure of traveling to Alaska, New York, California, Texas, and Guam to gain more patient experience and cultural awareness in my profession.

I don’t just travel for work I also love to travel for fun and for the different cultural experience. So far I have visited 49 countries and 6 Continents both solo and group travels. Some of my favorite and life changing places that I have visited has been Africa, Greece, Thailand, Dubai, Japan  and Australia. When I visit different countries I make it a priority to experience the culture and stay with the locals and learn their history and how they live.

Travel has been such a blessing for me and one of my goals is to be able to educate people into traveling on a budget and traveling in a way that they could gain the most educational and life changing experience. Traveling has helped me become more culturally aware which has helped me become a more efficient nurse and individual. I encourage people to have an open mind and to step out of their comfort zones and see the world for what amazing gifts it gives us.
