Sleeping on a Yogabed – Mattress Review

I was sent a Marpac Yogabed to review. All opinions are my own!

Between being from a city that doesn’t sleep to traveling I am always on the go. I have slept on many mattresses around the world. I have even gone as far as to order pillows that were super comfortable at a hotel for home. So of course having a good mattress is very important for me.

This isn’t a review where I only used the mattress for a week or a month and then tell you it was great in that short amount of time. Instead I have had it for 6 months. I felt that was a great amount of time for an honest opinion. First let me fill you in on some of the features.

About Me

I am 5’4 1/2 and working on dropping some weight (lol can’t go revealing all of that.) Although I am mostly a back sleeper I also sleep on my side. I currently have a few ailments such as lower back pains, a tear in my shoulder, and a couple of bulging neck discs. Yes, I am working on getting all of this together!

Day 1

The queen sized bed came in a box of course. It was very easy to get it out. It didn’t take long for it to come to life once out of the plastic. There was a scent that permeated from the bed, the new bed out the box smell. The scent wasn’t strong and I have a sensitive nose, but it was noticeable.

I had some help testing out the bed. We rolled and laid all over it and found it to be very comfortable. We moved around to see if we would disturb or move the other. The bed absorbed it. First night of sleep was a good night.

Week 1

Although I was told that new bed out the box scent was gone, my sensitive nose could still slightly smell it. The smell went away a couple of days later. I could only really smell it if my nose was pressed on the mattress.

Better rest was being had. Prior to that I couldn’t lay too long without feeling some pain. My ailments weren’t felt as much and I was getting some good rest. Being constantly on the move and working on recovering, getting the rest was very important and I was definitely getting it.

Month 6

Even times when I don’t feel like I could fall asleep, I do. I find myself relaxing and just falling asleep. The bed has held up well. It does feel like it may have sunk down a bit. I have yet to find a set of sheets that will stay on it, so I will have to invest in those sheet clips. It is still very comfortable, easy to clean, and I have been getting great sleep.

I have been happy to come in after a long day and just rest my body. The Yogabed has been helping me recover from the day because I have been getting the much needed rest. With my ailments I have been in a lot of pain. After laying down on the bed and relaxing in a short while my body starts to feel better.
