5 Fun Things To Do in Miami, Florida

When you think of Miami, I am sure the first things that pop in your mind is the beach, nightlife, warm weather, and maybe even Rick Ross or Pitbull. So Here are 5 fun things to do in Miami, Florida. I have been a few times and enjoyed myself. Although I have done a lot there is so much more to see and do. Of course you have to also find a great place to stay while doing all of these fun things as there are some great areas!

Little Havana

This area of Miami is of course influenced by the rich Cuban culture. The area is anchored by Calle Ocho (8th Street) which is filled with restaurants, art, history, and of course music. There is a Havana Walk of Fame that feature many celebrities in the Latin community. Head over to Domino Park to watch some intense games of dominos taking place. Right across from the park is a popular ice cream spot, Azucar. Flavors are rotated and made fresh daily!

Miami Beach

Most people head over to South Beach and rightfully so. However if you want to get away from the tourists or spring breakers you want to head to Mid Beach or North Beach. From my experience it was much more quieter and very chill. My friend and I just enjoyed some girl time, chatting and laughing. Of course the next day we went with a group to South Beach for more of a party vibe.

Wynwood

Known for the art all around the area this is one of my favorite places in Miami. There are galleries, street murals, and more. Wynwood Walls has curated murals from artists around the world. If you follow me on Instagram you know I love street art! Of course you can find some great places to eat, shopping, and more. The area is really coming into its own!

Jungle Island

I haven’t had the opportunity to go yet, but this is on my list whenever I get back to Miami. Jungle Island is home to different animals from around the world. It has over 300 birds and even twin orangutans. I personally would love to see the sloths, especially since I some how missed them when visiting Costa Rica! The latest addition to Jungle Island is Adventure Bay. It includes rock climbing, ropes courses, zip-lining and more.

Everglades Airboat Tour

Another thing I have yet to do. A little bit of an adventure and a lot of DEET needed when doing one of these tours. On this tour you have a chance to see alligators, birds, and snakes. The shallow water provides diverse vegetation and animals. This is something a bit different you may want to consider adding to your Miami itinerary.
